Sažetak
The paper presents the historical development of sewing machine needles and the ways of needlemaking and surface treatment. Further, the choice of sewing machine needles for different processes of garment manufacture is described. The most important development moments are given for each type of sewing machine needles, including Groz-Beckert special application needles.
