Sažetak
Peach and nectarine production is mainly located in Southern Croatia i. e. in the Mediterranean area. Two main peach and nectarine growth counties are Dalmatia and Istria. A large part of Dalmatia was destroyed in the recent war, and its eco-system was destroyed respectively. Except for widespread common pests as aphids, scale insects, Capnodis tenebrionis, stone-fruit moths, pests untypical for stone fruit caused some serious damage recently. In the course of two years of the fauna investigation in Dalmatia near Zadar, five species of Coleopteran (Curculionidae) and six species of Heteroptera were found in commercial peach orchards. In the spring of 2002 some beneficial species of the Anthicidae family caused minor damage on ripening fruits. The second aim of fauna investigation was thrips fauna on peach and nectarine. Thrips tabaci, T. minutissimus, T. linarius and Drepanothrips reuteri were found in peach orchards.
