Sažetak
The 24th Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (C.I.N.P.) Congress, that was held in Paris, France, was a congress that showed some new exciting data about new potential drugs, tried to find some new indications for the drugs already in use, and summarize the preclinical data and data obtained from the animal models and extrapolated the new knowledge into clinical practice. The 24th C.I.N.P. meeting was held in Paris, France, from June 20-24, 2004. The opening ceremony and welcome reception was chaired by Professor Herbert Y Meltzer, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, President of C.I.N.P. The social program was fantastic, ranging from an acrobat hanging on the string to the perfect performance did by riders on the horses, combined with speeches and awards. There were 6500 registered participants all over the world. The meeting consisted of four plenary lectures, held by Professor FE Bloom, Department of Neuropharmacology, The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla USA, Professor HY Meltzer, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, Professor CL Masters, The University of Melbourne, and the Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia, and Professor JP Changeux, CNRS URA 2182 Recepteurs and Cognition, Paris, France. There were 69 symposia, 5 synthesia, 25 satellite symposia, 2 electronic interactive sessions, 6 meet the expert sessions, 11 sessions that were held under the name breaking scientific news, 6 workshops, 5 joint meetings, and 2 poster sessions with 657 posters, with no oral presentations and no organized rounds with discussion over the posters. Posters were displayed for two days between 12.00 to 18.00 h, and presenters were asked to be available between 16.30 and 18.00 h to answer the questions. Abstracts from the congress were published in International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, vol 7, Supplement 1, June 2004.
