Sažetak
A 11-month Caucasian male was admitted because of smoke poisoning from combusted synthetic clothing, the exposure lasting for about half an hour.On admission the child appeard somnolent, confused, mildly dyspnoic, blood pressure being 13.3/8.0 kPa, and cyanotic, therefore representing a case of severe poisoning. Hyperbaric oxygen treatment was started about two hours after admission. On the sixth day the child was discharged from the hospital as completely cured. This case report confirms eficcacy of HBO in the treatment of CO poisoning and the prevention of late CO poisoning sequelae.
