Sažetak
Polymeric nanocomposites were prepared by in-situ polyesterification using modified montmorillonite. Montmorillonite (MMT) was modified by cation exchange with liquid crystalline a-(bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino)-w-(4´nitroazobenzene-4-oxy)octane hydrocloride. The intercalation of diol was observed by X-ray diffraction. Liquid crystalline polyesters were synthesized using modified MMT, a-(bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino)-w-(4´nitroazobenzene-4-oxy)octane and succinic anhydride. Xylene was used as a solvent. Polyesters with different amounts of MMT were prepared and analysed by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scaning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray spectroscopy. The presence of MMT increases the crystallization and melting temperature and slightly decreases isotropization temperature of polyester. The X-ray diffraction shows the increase of interlayer distance MMT indicating that intercalated nanocomposites were formed.
