Sažetak
Croatia is in the phase of getting the EU applicant status, which means that it will get access to new EU policies funds. In this paper will be assessed the impact of these funds on the basic economic variables in the Bjelovar - Bilogora County ; the region of Croatia which has predominantly rural characteristics. The accent is on rural regional characteristics since the difference of EU's pre-accession support in confront to present support that Croatia receives is mainly oriented towards agriculture and rural development (Sapard). Therefore, the aim is to calculate the impact of each policy on regional development and in this way verify can it significantly contribute to convergence of the region to the national development level and EU's average.
