Sažetak
Two-year study (1995-1996) was undertaken in Eastern Croatia to evaluate intensity of attack by principal soybean parasites and efficacy of fungicides in controlling these parasites. Two soybean cultivars were used in trial - Lika and Podravka 95. The experiment design consisted of two variants - seed treatment (Benit universal 4, 75 DS Apron 200 and Vitavax) and foliar spraying (Impact-C and Benlate). In control variant fungicides were not applied. Principal soybean diseases recorded in our trials were:downy mildew (Peronospora manshurica), pod and stem blight (Diaporthe phaseolorum var. sojae), stem canker (Diaporthe phaseolorum var. caulivora) and Sclerotinia stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum). On soybean seeds predominant parasites were: Peronospora manshurica, Cercospora kikuchii and Fusarium spp. In 1996 Diaporthe phaseolorum var. sojae was recorded, due to wet conditions during maturity. Difference in diseases intensity between cultivars was observed:cultivar Podravka 95 was more tolerant to diseases than cultivar Lika. In our trials, results obtained with tested fungicides were as good as, or better than control. Better results were obtained in controlling pod and stem blight and stem canker with foliar application of benzimidazole fungicides (Impact C and Benlate), compared to seed tretments.
