Sažetak
In our previous study we observed a highly donor dependent effect of met-enkephalin (MENK) on superoxide anion release. The aim of this study was to examine if this donor dependent effect could be the consequence of diverse activity of proteolytic enzymes on the surface of neutrophils from different donors. According to the results obtained donors were classified in those with low, medium or high aminopeptidase activity. Neutrophils preincubated with MENK displayed significant decrease of aminopeptidase activity wich was not case with synthetic agonists DAGO and DADLE. Neutrophils with low aminopeptidase activity incubated with MENK released less, while neutrophils with high aminopeptidase activity incubated with MENK released more superoxide anion then the respective control. Thus the level of aminopeptidase activity correlated with the effect of MENK on superoxide anion release.
