Sažetak
The dynamics of riboflavin biosynthesis was followed in the developing seed of four soybean cultivars, grown in 1982 and 1983 under precisely defined climatic conditions. Riboflavin content was determined fluorometrically by neasuring the intensity of lumiflavin fluorescence. To get an insight into the cumulation of dry matter in developing seed, the values are given for the absolute weight and dry matter of the seed of all cultivars. By observing the dynamics of riboflavin biosynthesis it is noticeable that maximum synthesis of this vitamin occurs in the 4th stage, in which there is also the highest cumulation of dry matter. A lower maximal concentration of riboflavin in all cultivars in 1983 may be attributed to the effect to climatic factors. The relative values show a steady drop throughout the whole period of seed development. A follow-up of the fluctuation of riboflavin content in all four cultivars in both years point to the conclusion that neither the cultivar nor climatic factors affect the dynamics of riboflavin biosynthesis. A comparison of the fluctuation of fatty acids and proteins with the fluctuation of riboflavin content in cultivars Srećka i Maksimirka confirm its role in the biosynthesis of these most important components of soybean seed.
