Sažetak
The applicability of the modified spectrofluorometric thiochrome method for the determination of thiamine and its phosphate esters in food has been investigated for the determination of thiamine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based on alkaline oxidation of thiamine to highly fluorescent thiochromes. Since this procedure is conceived as a standard addition method with the blank sample reflecting fluorescence of matrix, the impact of the matrix interference has been annulled. Good recovery of added thiamine hydrochloride (mean 99.17 %), good repeatability (RSD 1.57 %) and reproducibility (RSD 2.37 %), low detection limit of thiamine hydrochloride (0.02 ug thiamine hydrochloride mL-1 of final solution) and low total error (mean 6.47 %) allow the investigated method to be proposed for the determination of thiamine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preperations and dietetic products.
