Sažetak
The values of added resistance in the Adriatic Sea waves were analysed for 2744 vessels with a displacement ranging from 500 to 1550 tons, and for 40 sea state-speed combinations at a heading course of 180?. The added resistance values were calculated for the speeds corresponding to Froude numbers from 0.1 to 0.4, and for the significant wave heights from 0.8 to 8.8 m. Applying linear regression analysis, the expressions that connect the geometrical characteristics of the considered vessels, their speed and sea state with the added resistance values were found. For the geometrical characteristics of the considered vessels, the characteristics that are usually used as design variables in modern optimisation methods were chosen.
