Sažetak
The transmembrane parts of 16 porins of known structure were precisely annotated using Garlic, the membrane protein visualization program. Transmembrane preferences were obtained for 20 standard amino acids. The statistical data were combined with experimental knowledge about porin insertion to prepare the model of porin insertion into the outer membrane.
