Sažetak
The Monjoroš forest is located along the right bank of the river Danube in the north-east of Croatia. It lies between 1418 km and 1414 km. On the said area 2, 405 horse flies were sampled. These horse flies were classified into 21 species. Haematopota pluvialis was most common (36, 50%)followed by Tabanus bromius (22, 37%)and Tabanus sudeticus (11, 14%). These three species account for 70, 01% of the tabanids collected in Monjoroš forest. Horse flies have been clustered into three zoogeographical groups: the Boreal - Eurasian group (16 spp.), the Afro-Eurasian arid group (1 spp.)and the South European group (4 spp.).
