Sažetak
The paper deals with specialization processes and diffusion of medical knowledge caused by interrelation of domestic medical knowledge and the expert and vademecum one. Findings from the beginning of the century made by a wellknown epidemiologist, L. Fleck while exploring the influence of the society on the formation of specific medical facts, were used. The process of medical specialization was observed through the analysis of the development of the Wassermann`s serologic test of syphillis. Selection, adaptation and simplification of scientific discoveries in process of their transformation in the vademecuum knowledge were exposed by comparing Wassermann`s reports published in a scientific journal with a description of the process found in a manual provided for clinical laboratory practice.
