Sažetak
Art serves to better understanding among people and helps find answers to economical, political and social challenges of contemporary society. Since art helps society, society should take constant care about artists and help them evolve and improve conditions in which they create and live. Professional artistic activity often results in specific health problems. Dealing with these problems demands superior knowledge of biomechanics, physiology and psychology of the artist's organism during the creation of an artwork. The concept of arts medicine includes medical and scientific aspects applicable to every branch of art. It tries to understand and explain artistic performance and, through the study of movement, physiology and ergonomics related to specific branches of art, to emphasize the necessity of prevention of various complaints searching for the most suitable therapies for artists.
