Sažetak
Lime is used in steel production. In addition to limestone heating in the process of lime production there is only the decomposition of CaCO3 into CaO and CO2. The process control in lime production is presently performed by applying the knowledge of heat transfer in shaft furnaces. Since heat transfer in shaft furnaces is a complicated process, the knowledge on which the process is conducted is often questionable. This paper presents the options of a safer lime production process based on continuous analysis of CO2 in output gases.
