Sažetak
Miocene formations of the study area overlie cataclasyzed rocks of Paleozoic and Triassic age. The initial Miocene sedimentation, which probably took place during the Ottnangian-Karpathian-?Early Badenian, is characterized by continental polimictic, mostly coarse-grained clastic rocks. The sediments were deposited close to steep slopes and in depressions of a distinctly dissected paleorelief. Later, during the Badenian, marine transgression took place and predominant carbonate clastic rocks were deposited in near-reef and large shoal environemts, whereas dark limestones of mudstone-type were originated in deeper and protected euxinic environemnts. The whole study area was affected by regression by the end of the Badenian, and the emersion lasted during the Sarmatian s. str. up to the Early Pannonian. The most part of unconformably overlying Lower Pannonian sediments are represented by dark micritic limestones ("Croatica beds") which where deposited in shallow fresh-water environments. In the whole area, synsedimentary subsidence begins by the end of the Early Pannonian, followed by clastic seimentation - turbidites and associated facies, which are predominant sediments originated during the Late Pannonian in caspribackish enviroments.
