Sažetak
In the first part of the paper the authoress discusses some aspects of the post-Tridentine liturgy and their influence on pictorial representation, on the example of two paintings representing "The Last Supper". In the second part she takes up the hypothesis about the work of art viewed as substitute put forward by E. H. Gombrich, and a new proposal put forward by D. Summers in his recent paper. Finally, the authoress offers her view of the issue, suggesting at the same time to take the distinction between sculpture and picture as the starting point for the discussion about the relationship of the visual representation and the real world.
