Sažetak
Mathematical models of casting solidification of different geometrical complexity have been developed and investigated in the paper. Special accent has been given to the numerical methods for solving partial differential equation of heat conduction in two- and three-dimensional case, which are the basis of solidification simulation of castings. In the three-dimensional mathematical model especially efficient are Douglas and Brian's methods which are unconditionally stable and are of second order with regard to approximation of time and space. Both methods have two-dimensional variant, and Brian's method has been identical to the implicit alternating direction method. To obtain an algorithm of solidification with application of implicit finite difference methods, system of tridiagonal matrix have been necessary to solve, for which an efficient algorithm exist. In addition to the whide quoted implicit methods of solving partial differential equation of heat conduction there are also unconditionally stable explicit finite difference methods. These are partial steps methods, classical method, and Sauyevs method. However, they have the first order of accuaracy. On the basis of quoted numerical methods for solving partial differential equation of heat conduction, algorithms of casting solidification of different complexity have been obtained and programmed in computer language ASCII FORTRAN, and simulation has been performed with computer SPERRY 1106.
