Sažetak
In the church of Beata Vergine Miracolosa in Buje, Istria there are two paintings by Francesco Zanella representing the "Death of a Jesuit (?) Monk" and the "Birth of the Virgin". Both are signed and the latter bears the date: 1687. Because of their remarkable quality and explicit giordanesque they might represent the chronological and evolutional "missing link" in the known works of Francesco Zanella.
