Sažetak
The paper assesses the potential of low-cost standalone GPS positioning to facilitate urban Satellite Positioning based Road User Charging (SPRUC). In this regard field tests have been undertaken and significant amounts of GPS kinematic data were collected around hypothetically defined charging sites. The data were then analysed using Geographic Information System (GIS) software coupled with the GPS data processing software, and statistics were derived for positioning accuracy and signal availability. In addition, to allow for reliable charging, an area of confidence around the charging points was suggested.
