Sažetak
Seven species of Yugoslavian wild growing Lamiaceae were subjected to phytochemical and antimicrobial screening. Contents of alkaloids, essential oils, tannins, saponins, flavonoids and anthraquinones were determined. Fourteen plant extracts were tested for antibacterial activity against eight different Gram negative bacteria species. It appeared that 18% of the examined extracts exhibited variable ranges of antibacterial activity. In addition, twenty eight plant extracts were tested for antifungal activity against Cladosporium herbarum No 49630. The test showed that 25% of the extracts exhibited variable antifungal activity. The most of antimicrobial activity had Ballota nigra L., Salvia officinalis L. and Lavandula spica L.
