Sažetak
Some research of possible minimisation of friction losses in the cylindrical radial bearings with hydrodynamic lubrication are presented in this paper. By analysis of numerical data, the expressions are evaluated that perform determination of optimal clearance in relation to the predetermined working conditions. Obtained energy savings can be significant. In addition, the !
minimised friction losses result in minimised working temperature and minimised capacity of cooling system, or in the possibility of applying cooling by natural convection. Since, a cooling system usually spends some energy proportional to its capacity, initial energy savings in bearings results in additional energy savings in the cooling system. Both energy savings can represent significant contribution to the environment protection.
