Sažetak
The fast development of computers is a reason for a qucik progress of computational fluid dynamics, which is a new branch of fluid mechanics. Computational fluid dynamics supported byexperimental and theoretical fluid mechanics enables fast, low cost and efficient simulations of real flows. A numerical solution is acceptable if a good representation of the real fluid flow is achieved. The estimation of numerical error is very important for eavaluating the quality of numerical solution and applicability of these results for real technical problems. On the other hand the estimation of computational efficiency is very important for the evaluation of specific numerical algorithm. A method for estimating the computational error and efficiency is presented trough a few simple examples. Some conclusions regarding the estimated computational error and efficiency, based on these simple eyamples, are given in this paper.
