Sažetak
This paper presents a semiotic explanation of why sometimes buildings "fall down" in our perception, evne though they are statically sound from the architectural point of view. The fact that the static of a building is not simply a result of the appropriately applied building technique, but also of important semiotic presuppositions is paradoxically most clearly revealed when there is imbalance in the process of architectural design and city planning resulting in the collision of "physiognomic", "locational" and "heraldic" functions.
