Sažetak
Object of investigations were leaves of three perennial Mediterranean plants and half-shrubs: Centaurea ragusina L., Salvia officinalis L. and Inula candida L. Content of water and water deficit and their corces of fluctuations wit amplitudes of fluctuations have been investigated in he period of twelve months. The leaves were collected from plants on the hill Marjan near Split. Investigations were perform using standard methods. The highest average content of water and lowest average of water deficit were registered in Centaurea ragusina. On the other hand, lowest average of water content and highest average of water deficit were obtained in Inula candida. All three species had maximal average water quantity and minimal average water deficit in May. In July they had minimal average water quantity and maximal average water deficit. The established water content and water deficit are a consequence of their leaf anatomical structure and the influence of climatic and pedological factors.
