Sažetak
An approach to determining the influence of the projected Danube -Sava Rivers Canal on the ground water level changes, as well the results of effected investigations are given in the paper. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of estimating the quality changes of ground water. Two model types were used when investigating. The flow rate between the canal and the aquifer was defined by means of the models in a vertical plane, and the change of ground water level in the Sava- basin part of Eastern Slavonic was found out by means of horizontal plane models. Within the framework of investigations supplementary geological researching work has been done showing that the line of canal traverses low permeable clayey covering strata. According to the results obtained by mathematical models throughout the greater part of year the canal will drain the territory it passes through and cause the decrease of ground water level less than 10 cm.
