Sažetak
Modern way of life brings many challenges and dangers whether in sports, traffic or other everyday activities and contributes significantly to the rise of dental traumas, especially among younger population. Dental crown fractures are a most frequent injury in dental traumatology today. They are classified as simple and complicated which include the crown of fractured tooth. In the treatment of dental fractures depending on the precise diagnosis and therapeutic procedures, two levels can be distinguished: pulp and restorative level. Following study discusses possible restorative procedures after endodontic sanation of traumatized teeth. Currently, postendodontic restorative procedures include application of adhesive techniques and composite materials in order to achieve superior esthetic reconstruction of frontal teeth. These trends are in accordance with contemporary concept of oral health, which contributes to promoting esthetic aspect as well as improving patient's smile thus providing feelings of satisfaction, increased confidence and as a result ensures better communication with environment. Ideally, newly placed restoration should completely reproduce anatomy, morphology and esthetic characteristics of natural tooth. However, since people differ in their ability to distinguish small differences in shade between two observed objects, for achieving optimal results it is necessary to include a dentist as well as an assistant and patient in the process of shade selection.
