The main issues identified in this assessment can be summarised as relating to the practicalities of: - communicating and consulting effectively with SMEs spread throughout the country - co-ordinating the activities of the various bodies working to support SME development - reducing complexity and ensuring coherency and consistency in policy, laws, regulations, procedures and support programmes, particularly between fiscal and developmental policies -avoiding unnecessary changes in laws, regulations and programmes to facilitate planning of investments -focusing on measures to support potential growth companies and their export levels, competitiveness and technology
