Sažetak
The paper presents an evaluation made by the author regarding the functioning and organisation of the current system of public urban-suburban passenger transport in the city of Zagreb regarding the changes effected after Croatia gained independence. The focus of the evaluation refers to the unsatisfactory overall quality of transportation services and the inefficiency of the current traffic system, indicating therefore the need for essential restructuring of the urban-suburban passenger transport in Zagreb. Further, the procedure of defining and selection of the optimal variant of the traffic system is converted into an algorithm and consequently, a new concept of the structure and functioning of the public urbansuburban passenger transport system in Zagreb is proposed.
