Sažetak
The communications industry is in an era of relentless change and explosive growth. The convergence of wireless, internet, voice and appliances is pushing the need for next-generation networks and services. This paper will briefly explore some of the challenges facing wireless network operators and some of the key testing requirements for UMTS networks throughout the entire wireless network lifecycle. Due to the limited space for this paper, we focus on two specific stages of the lifecycle that are most important to UMTS operators at this time. These include the network planning and design stage followed by the initial network optimization stage.
