Sažetak
Thedevelopment of transport logistics and virtual managment systems is closely related to the development of information technology and services.Organization and traffic managment require modernization under the influence of information and communication development, sector restructuring and liberalization of the service supply.The operative institutions in the teletraffic sector of central and eastern European countries are still using information and organization methods and concepts dating from the 80s of the past century, which is insufficient if they want to respond efficiently to the demanding menagment trends of the market economy.This work presents the characteristics of the BI system and estimates the need to introduce innovative managment solutions in traffic.An overview of the BI market structure in Croatia is given as well as the tendency of growth.A dialogue is recommended between the companies and educational institutions with the aim of developing awareness of BI as an advanced mechanism for decision-making support.
