Sažetak
A postal system is a part of transportation and communication system. Network facilities and postal network are advantages of national post operators. The organization of mail and package distribution is structured in five steps, so that regular, timely and punctual delivery in the postal distribution process is guaranteed. These steps are: collecting, dispatching, transportation, receiving and delivery of mails and package. This paper compares service organization of the Post of Slovenia and of the Post of Croatia. It analyses and compares the specific characteristic of both post systems in terms of prices, lead-time of delivery and development indicators of postal network. Further, express post will be studied in detail.
