Sažetak
Within larger taxonomical investigation of some interesting Limonium taxa distributed across the Croatian part of the Adriatic coast, we explored their type material. In quest of the original type material of the Limonium vestitum C. E. Salmon (C. E. Salmon) species (Salmon, 1924), we found out that the whole material is in the WU herbaria (Vienna). Comparative research of this material and literature data showed up that no one specimen was selected as holotype or isotype. Analyses of Salmon's description, illustrations and drawings of L. vestitum, under the name Statice vestita C. E. Salmon (Salmon, 1923) and herbarium material, pointed to the existence of three syntypes of this species: the first from Pomo (Jabuka) (collected by Ginzberger and Teyber in 1911 and named as S. cancellata Bornh., than revised as S. vestita by Salmon in 1923), the second sheet from Kamik (also collected by Ginzberger and Teyber in 1911 and also named S. cancellata, and than also revised as S. vestita by Salmon in 1923) and the third from Kamik (collected by Ginzberger in 1914, without name and than revised as S. vestita by Salmon in 1923). According to ICBN (Greuter et al., 2000), between those syntypes we selected the lectotype of L. vestitum: Limonium vestitum C. E. Salmon (C. E. Salmon) in Salmon 62: 336, 1924. = Satice vestita C. E. Salmon in Salmon 61: 97-99, plate 567, fig. 1a., 1923. - Lectotype: specimen collected by Ginzberger A and Teyber A., s.n., 1911-06-03/09 (WU – Generale 27177).
