Sažetak
Educational software dealing with Biochemistry has been developed at the Department of Biology, University J. J. Strossmayer in Osijek. On this meeting, it will be presented digital textbook "Carbohydrate metabolism", published as the second part of the project with general title "Biochemical Themes", by the Faculty of Education in Osijek. The reviewers were prof. Tihana Žanić&#8211 ; Grubišić (Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Zagreb), and Ivana Weygand&#8211 ; Đurašević (Faculty of Sciences, Zagreb). Like the first one ("Oxidative phosphorilation", published in the year 2002.), it includes classical textual informations, combined with numerous illustrations, animations of molecules and molecular mechanisms and processes, as well as some tutorials in the program "Chime". In addition to the main chapters prepared in Microsoft program Power Point, it contains comprehensive instructions for use, as well as necessary programs for the extended applications. Literature site quotes several world-known recent popular textbooks as well as a number of the most interesting WEB-pages dealing with subjects of interest. Some chapters are organized in a specific way (i.e. Glycolysis, Citric acid cycle), what will be demonstrated in the presentation. Also, the reasons for orientation to electronic form will be explained, the history of the work in this field until now outlined, and some future projects indicated.
