Sažetak
Computer development in last decade made it possible to introduce new features in teaching process. In addition to standard aspects of its application, inclusion of animations (often referred as "movies") in lecture presentations made it possible to elucidate some specific items in biochemistry, like macromolecular structure, structure/function relationship, enzyme reaction mechanism, interaction of macromolecules with other chemical entities, etc. First in this lecture the advantages of animation inclusion to the biochemistry lectures for students from different faculty profiles are emphasized. Further on, necessary hardware and software are defined, the same as most common animation types and sources. The second part of the lecture deals with numerous and heterogeneous (according to type and origin) animation examples, grouped in accordance with an average schedule of biochemistry lecture programs. The general items included are: reversible molecular interactions, basic macromolecular building blocks, proteins, supramolecular structures, metabolic processes, enzyme reaction mechanisms and information. The presentation concludes with an inventory of three in the lecture most exploited databases. The lecture is accompanied by a CD (~700 MB) in Croatian language, containing the whole presented material, as well as all the items cited in the databases used. Included are the uncommon, but necessary programs for the complete CD utilization, and an Instruction file (English - e, Croatian - h).
