Sažetak
A method for the improvement of the conditionality of the stiffness matrix of a structure in the finite element analysis is developed, which is based on the reduction of the number of nonzero nondiagonal elements of the stiffness matrix via making the shape functions partly orthogonal. A number of systems of optimal shape functions is constructed and the evaluation of efficiency of their employment is carried out for 1 D, 2 D and 3 D finite elements. The propoesd sets of shape functions increase the efficiency of application of FEM in metal forming processes.
