Sažetak
A large number of structures will be and already has been built on the Bregana &#8211 ; ; ; Zagreb &#8211 ; ; ; Dubrovnik motorway. Along its length the motorway has been divided in several sections and each one of them consist of a large number of short span structures. A single type of girder and pier was used in design work to obtain uniformity of construction. Each bridge consists of two structures (one for each direction) allowing the required highway to be achieved. The static system is a range of simple supported beams leaned on the pier overhead beams. The structures consist of prefabricated prestressed girders (mostly U-shaped, whilst on the skew structures I-shaped girders were designed). Although the aim was to achieve typical spans, that was not always possible due to variety of obstacles (natural, traffic, etc.) This paper shows the basic characteristics of the short span bridges on the designed motorway.
