Sažetak
The construction of several tunnels is underway at present in Croatia. The biggest is the Sveti Rok tunnel through Velebit Mountain. Its length is 5680 m. The tunnel consists of two separate tubes, and because of its length it is being drilled in two phases. The first phase is drilling of the right-hand tube and 2500 m of the left-hand tube which acts as a service tunnel. The right-hand tube will be completed when the left-hand tube will be drilled to completion. At the time of drilling of the left-hand tube the right-hand tube linning will be completed. Mining of the left-hand tube will represent special loading on the right-hand tube linning. When the design of Sveti Rok Tunnel was done, the soil surrounding the linning was modeled in finite elements
