Sažetak
The export of fish has for decades been the most prominent segment of Croatian aquaculture, in absolute as well as in relative numbers. However, the freshwater aquaculture has recently been faced with downfall of production per hectare and with fall in the total production. The efficiency of the sector as a whole became questionable, as the result of the unsuitability to the market, poor marketing research, reduction of the market, and cheaper fish offered by the Eastern Europe.
