Sažetak
The aim of investigations was acquisition of sound pressure signal that appears near the cutting zone during the turning process. It was assumed and confirmed that acquisition of noise signals has its advantages and limitations. The measurements were performed on a heat treatable steel Č1431, whereas CBN inserts were used during dry cutting. Noise and acceleration data were recorded and analysed in frequency range between 1 to 20 kHz. An influence of cutting speed, insert radius and tool wear on signals was observed. The results showed that a high possibility in terms of process monitoring exists for both groups of signals, especially for a large-scale production.
