Sažetak
Wild broodstock of the flounder Platichthys flesus (L.) from Adriatic Sea were spawned in captivity. Eggs and larvae were incubated at 14.8 - 15.5 &ordm ; ; ; ; C. The average diameter of newly spawned eggs was 0.91 &plusmn ; ; ; ; 0.1 mm. First cleavage after fertilization occurred at about 2 h 32 min. The average total length of newly hatched flounder larvae was 2.58 &plusmn ; ; ; ; 0.23 mm. Pigmentation of flounder larvae is not as dense as that of other flatfish, such as turbot and brill. Complete yolk absorption was observed 147 - 150 hours after hatching at a standard length of 3.9 mm and total length of 4.1 mm.
