Sažetak
In this paper the results and findings of an empirical research in the field of motivation, or, more exactly, demotivation, have been shown. Starting from the assumption that demotivation is not simply negative motivation, possible factors of employees' demotivation in a manufacturing company in Croatia have been researched. Moreover, it has been examined whether the factors and the intensity of demotivation were different between managers and professionals without managerial responsibilities. The research has given findings consistent with the initial assumpiton, i.e. it has been shown that the demotivation factors are different from the motivation factors, that extrinsic factors have significantly stronger influence as demotivators, and that particular factors influence different categories of employees with different intensity. These findings can be useful not only for the human resources management policies within companies, but they can also give a contribution to better understanding of situation and relations in the field of (de)motivation of key categories employees (managers and professionals) in Croatian enterprises in general, and and even give a modest contribution to the affirmation of some basic motivation theories validity.
