Sažetak
Entrepreneurship is the act of creating value by seizing opportunity, or overcoming necessity, through risk taking and mobilization of human, social, financial and physical capital. Entrepreneurship theories most often define entrepreneurial activity as function of personal (such as attitudes, values, background, skills, behaviours) and contextual elements1 (such as level of economic development ; political system, infrastructure and social environment. Researches upon contextual elements are much dispersed but one avenue seems particularly interesting and under explored. Entrepreneurship seems to prosper in societies where most members view it with a favourable attitude, and where cultural factors encourage entrepreneurship. Croatia is known for its cultural diversity, therefore it seemed interesting to explore if there is a difference in nutritive capacity for entrepreneurship in different local communities. Intercultural differences of local communities would be of particular interest to the policy makers, especially on the local government unit&#8217 ; s level. Furthermore, management of the inter - cultural differences would allow specific impact on education, trainings and other forms of professional and commercial support in order to improve the entrepreneurial mindset of the local communities.
