Sažetak
A large number of benzothiazole derivatives are of considerable biological and chemical interest. Their pharmaceutical and agrochemical applications are of particular relevance. In order to find a new biologically active benzothiazole compounds we prepared in the multistep synthesis a serie of new styrylbenzothiazole compounds 1-9 starting from 6-cyano-2-methylbenzothiazole or 2-methylbenzothiazole and corresponding benzaldehydes. Cyano-derivatives of styrylbenzothiazoles 1-3 were converted by Pinner reaction into the corresponding amidine hydrochlorides 4-9. All styrylbenzothiazole compounds were tested on their antitumor activity. All compounds were characterized by means of IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
