Sažetak
The features of e-commerce as a specific and demanding way of communication are being presented in the introduction of this paper. e-commerce is being conducted most frequently through the public networks, which are exposed to numerous threats. Therefore, the question of security is very important, and this is emphasized in the use of Internet, because it is totally open and non-supervised network. In most cases there are more independent networks included in the communication. Because of that, the need for standardization of the types and levels of security measures becomes a necessity. At the moment, there are two basic types of approach to the standardization: American and European type. The rest of the paper presents the results of the researches of applied measures and levels of security in the business communication of small and medium firms in our country. The conclusion presents propositions for increase of the security in the business communication.
