Sažetak
After brief discussion of the features of Internet in the introduction, the relation between society and Internet is presented. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with the Internet as main representative, today has an incredible impact on society, in both economical and social sense. Social impact is especially visible in the field of employment. This problem is emphasized because of the fact that these groups of people, who are looking for job or face the threat of losing their job, are excluded from the use of ICT. In this sense, some critical observations about the paper of the Commission of the EU (sec /2001/ 1428) about e-exclusion (The Information Society&#8217 ; ; s potential for social inclusion in Europe) are being made. In the conclusion, some possible solution of the problem of ICT and society are presented and discussed. Also, some observations of the situation in Republic Croatia are being given.
