Sažetak
The economic impacts of catering and tourism activity on the whole of Croatia's economy and on job opportunities has been estimated by input-output analysis (by 1987 input-output's framework), which is used to evaluate the effects of alternative scenarios about the consumption of the tourism product. The used model is the model type 2. Of particular interest are the implications concerning further production and employment. The first scenario is based on the empirical dates of tourism export in 1997, and the second is related to hypothetical tourism export if devaluation of HRK/USA $ is realized. We discuss the policy implications of utilizing alternative exchange rate policy of HRK on the tourism consumption. A study shows, according to an obtained elasticity coefficients of export and import a larger but mild multiple economic impact on the production and employment level if the devaluation scenario is applied.
