Sažetak
Single lap joints are the most widely used adhesively bonded joints in engineering practice. When two mating parts assembled through adhesive bonding are loaded in the horizontal plane or parallel planes, a mixed state of stresses develops, which is combination of shear stresses parallel to surfaces to be bonded and tensile stresses perpendicular to them. This stress combination in the single lap joint arises as a result of non-co-linear tensile forces. During the continously increasing of stretching force, all stresses superimpose in the lap boundary region up to the point of reaching a critical stress, which causes adhesive layer failure. This paper deals with approach to modelling of single lap bonded joints of metal plates, at which a true physical characteristics of adhesive have been considered and lap length has been changed. Three types of adherends (materials to be bonded) have been considered, aluminium, stainless steel and brass. All bonded joints have been realized using an engineering two-components epoxy adhesive. The true diagram of stresses of metals have been considered and comparison of data obtained with numerical analysis and experimental investigation. The results of both of them are in a good correlation.
