Sažetak
This book provides a cohesive and coherent comparison of medical care reforms in countries that differ widely in organization and in types of medical care systems, leading to some advancement in looking at medical care reform as a global phenomenon. The first chapter is an international comparison of health care system reforms. Subsequent chapters discuss Western Europe, North America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Oceania. The objective was to support a thesis that medical care reforms are substantially similar throughout the world and to explore whether they are a transnational phenomenon that cannot be understood in the context of the nation-state.
